about

I love the idea of a love affair between the creatures known as Winter and Summer. The two can never really touch but they dance passionately around one another forever, leaving seeds and signs for the other to find. That’s the idea this song initially started from but it grew of its own accord into an all-out celebration of life, music, singing, love and how everything which exists must be holy purely because it exists, without the need for filters to explain it all.

lyrics

She was the white witch of the north
And the wind came to her call
Shook my heart loose
Like the leaves in fall

She was the white witch of the north
It didn’t matter to me at all
No it didn’t matter
To me at all

Now I wake up singing in the morning
And I wake up singing in the dawn
I wake up singing in the dawn

You
You are all holy
You are all holy
You are all holy
Every season has its place
And every season has its place
And yes it hurts to be alive
But then you know that you’re alive
Every tree is in the ground
And every bird up in the sky
And every human deep in love
Oh, you are all holy
You are all holy
You are all holy
You are all holy

He was the dark boy from the south
And the words poured forth from his mouth
Like the sun and honey from his mouth
He was the dark boy from the south
And he loved her
